Disclaimer: The contents of this article is not intended to accuse individuals. There are many faithful believers in various religious denominations, including Roman Catholicism, who serve God to the best of their ability and are seen by God as His children (hence, "Come out of her, my people," Rev. 18:4). These believers, faithful to their church's teachings, have fallen victim to one or more of Satan's many snares, devices and false doctrines. The information contained herein is directed only towards the Roman Catholic religio-political system that has reigned in varying degrees of power for nearly two millennia. Under the influence of its successive popes, bishops, and cardinals, this system has established an increasing number of doctrines and statements that clearly go against Scripture.

The Pope Kissing The Qu'ran

Here is a photo of the Pope at the end of an audience with Patriarch Raphael I of Iraq where "the Pope bowed to the Muslim holy book the Qu'ran presented to him by the delegation and kissed it as a sign of respect".

Did the Pope, touted by people like Billy Graham who said the Pope was his pick for "the Man of the Century"; and people like Bill Bright, Pat Robertson and Chuck Colson who signed the Evangelicals And Catholics Together document that claims that Evangelicals and Catholics are preaching the same gospel ... has this man who represents, in fact is the "infallible" voice of the Roman Catholic Church not remember what the Qu'ran has to say about Jesus and the Triunity of God?

"O people of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit [sic.] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers and say not 'Three' - Cease! (it is better for you! - Allah is only one God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son...The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah."
Of Jesus Christ the Qu'ran also states:
"And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! The folk laugh out, and say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. He is nothing but a slave on whom we bestowed favor, and we made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. And had we willed it we would have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth".
Regarding Christ's death on the Cross, the Qu'ran says:
"That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary a grave false charge; That they said (in boast): We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah. But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjunction to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. ... And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness against them (Christians)." (Koran, 4:156-159)
The Qu'ran even has Jesus Himself saying:
"Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who cometh after me, whose name is the Praised One."

This picture is simply further evidence, along with his receiving the mark of Shiva, organizing "prayer meetings" with occult religious leaders, and allowing the worship of a false god on the altar of the RCC church at Assisi, of his inter-religious inter-faith agenda for the RCC that seems to be trying desperately to establish its place in history as the woman who rides the beast! These images shed light on the Roman Catholic church and her leader's inter-religious inter-faith agenda and why the scriptures refer to the woman who sits on the beast as "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall....Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry." (1 Cor. 10:11,12,14)

In 2011 Pope Benedict XVI, continuing in his predecessors footsteps, met with approximately 300 religious leaders from various world religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, etc.) to mark the 25th anniversary of the Assisi interfaith gathering. "Christians," Pagans, and even non-believers were officially represented by their respective spokespersons, presidents, Primates, Archbishops, Secretary Generals, etc.
"But I say, that the things which the Gentiles [non-Christians] sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?" (1 Cor. 10:20-22)
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord," (2 Cor. 6:14-17)

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thess. 2:11,12)
"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (Rev. 13:8)

Ecumenism - A New Age of Darkness

The famous Poet and philosopher George Santayana once said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." (The Life of Reason, 1917, p. 284). Most Americans have never heard of or know very little about the World Council of Churches and similar inter-faith organizations. These religious organizations are part of a world-wide plan to unite all of the worlds religions under a common leader promoting false peace through ecumenical inter-faith delusion, just as the Sacred Scriptures forewarned. Unfortunately, most people have little or no knowledge of world/church history, and as a result most Americans have placed far too much faith and power, and consequently their very freedoms, in the hands of their spiritual leaders and politicians, leaders whose interests and loyalties are not with the American people, but with the United Nations Organization and other foreign entities (see Towards the One World System). The 1000 year period known as The Dark Ages was a time when much of the civilized world was plunged into a politico-religious despotism aided by the 600 year period of the Roman Catholic Inquisition when those labeled by "The Church" as heretics were imprisoned, tortured and murdered for simply stating their opinions and refusing to bow to papal authority.

Historian John Acton, a Roman Catholic, speaking on the subject of the usurped power of the Popes, said, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." (Life and Letters of Mandell Creighton, 1913, p. 372). For those who doubt the role of the papacy in the Inquisition, historian John Acton said,

“The Inquisition is peculiarly the weapon and peculiarly the work of the Popes. It stands out from all those things in which they co-operated, followed, or assented as the distinctive feature of papal Rome. It was set up, renewed, and perfected by a long series of acts emanating from the supreme authority in the Church. No other institution, no doctrine, no ceremony is so distinctly the individual creation of the papacy, except the dispensing power. It is the principal thing with which the papacy is identified, and by which it must be judged.
The principal of the Inquisition is the Pope's sovereign power over life and death. Whosoever disobeys him should be tried and tortured and burnt. If that cannot be done, formalities may be Dispensed with, and the culprit may be killed like an outlaw.
That is to say, the principal of the Inquisition is murderous, and a man's opinion of the papacy is regulated and determined by his opinion about religious assassination.” (Letters of Lord Acton to Mary Gladstone, 1913, pp. 185, 186)

From the time of the first apostles the early Christian church neither sought, nor did they wield, political power, as per Jesus' and his apostle's words:

"My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight," "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s." (John 17:14; 18:36; Mark 12:17); "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal" (2 Cor. 10:4).
After the Roman emperor Constantine came to power in the 4th century the church of Rome became the first "Christian" church in history to unite church and state. After the Protestant Reformation the Vatican's political power came to an end; but in the early 20th century the sovereignty of the Vatican City State and the Pope's political power was once again formally reestablished and recognized with the signing of the Lateran Treaty in 1929 with Mussolini and reaffirmed by the Reichskonkordat Concordat in 1933 with Hitler.

The United Nations (UN), founded in 1945 after World War II, is a corrupt international organization whose agenda is a one-world police state. The papacy has been one of the strongest supporters of the UN since its formation in 1945. Beginning in the early 1960s the UN has granted to the Roman Catholic church a privileged position - held by no other religion - that gives this church a voice in the international community regarding some of the most sensitive issues of our time.

Beginning in the 1500s when the Protestant Reformation began to impede the papacy's power, the church of Rome immediately set in motion the Counter Reformation and employed the Jesuit organization to destroy the Reformed churches and re-establish the power of the Roman church (see Council of Trent 1545–1563). This was to be done not only through the Inquisition, but also through propaganda (theology, philosophy, politics, education, etc.). Adolf Hitler said, "Let me control the textbooks and I will control the state." (Christianity's Dangerous Idea, 2010, p. 191). The History of the Christian Church informs us,

"One of the principal means which the Jesuits employed against the Reformation was the school.... Their tact in handling youth gave them a religious influence over the developing minds under their care which was almost sure to result in loyalty to the Roman Catholic Church.... Especially did they strive to win the sons of the noble families, because among them were the seats of political influence. In every possible way it was undertaken to outdo the Protestant schools and universities in the educational field.... The same method in another form led them to seek everywhere positions as fathers confessor, especially among the nobility and the wealthy classes, thereby not only molding religious opinion, but gaining great political influence." (History of the Christian Church, Vol.2, 1900, p. 547).
In 1807 the Jesuit Society was established in the United States. On May 6th, 1816, John Adams wrote to Thomas Jefferson stating, "I do not like the late Resurrection of the Jesuits....Shall We not have Swarms of them here? In as many shapes and disguises as ever.... printers, Editors, Writers, School masters, etc. If ever any Congregation of men could merit, eternal Perdition on Earth and in Hell... it is this Company of Loyola." On August 1st Jefferson replied: "I dislike, with you, their restoration, because it marks a retrograde step from light towards darkness." (The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, Vol. XV, 1905, p. 17, p. 58). The fact that so few people have any knowledge of these important statements made by America's Founding Fathers is further proof of the Jesuit's success at re-writing history and influencing public opinion.

Webster's Universal Dictionary has this to say about the Jesuit society,

"The power of the organization lies largely in its close scrutiny into affairs, its secret methods.... For the means it has sometimes employed to accomplish its purposes in statecraft it has been condemned as unscrupulous in intrigue and deceptive in purpose, tending to the subversion of legitimate government." (Webster's Universal Dictionary, 1904, p. 907).
It is quite possible that some who are reading this article may think that the Roman hierarchy in America do not approve of the policy of their church in interfering with the freedom of speech and of the press, and that they would repudiate it if they dared to do so. We therefore reprint from the article on “Censorship of Books,” in the Catholic Encyclopedia (Vol. III, pages 519-527), edited by American Catholics and published in New York City, some paragraphs upon this subject:
From the beginning and at all times in principle, the church adhered to the censorship. . . . When the church, after the era of persecution, was given greater liberty, a censorship of books appears more plainly. . . .
The religious disruption of Germany had not yet begun when Rome took precautionary measures by insisting on a preventive censorship of all printed works. . . .
During the Lateran Council, Leo X promulgated, 3 May, 1515, the bull Inter sollicitudines. This is the first papal censorial decree given for the entire church which was universally accepted. . . .
Leo X issued the bull Exsurge Domine [June 15, 1520], by which all writings of Luther, even future ones, were forbidden under pain of excommunication. . . .
Pius X issued in 1905 orders regarding the printing and publication of liturgical chants and melodies, and In the encyclical letter Pascendi dominici gregis (8 Sept., 1907) most urgently enjoined on all the prohibition and censorship of books. . . .
It is, of course, absolutely Impossible for both the Pope and the Congregation of the Index to watch over the press of all countries in order to suppress at once each and every pernicious writing. . . . The Pope, of course, has the right of censorship for the entire church. (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. III, 1913, “Censorship of Books”, pp. 519-527)
The Roman Catholic Historian John Acton wrote:
"The Council instituted the index of prohibited books.... A congregation was appointed to examine new publications, to issue decrees against them as required, and to make out catalogues from time to time of works so condemned. Besides this, censures were also pronounced by the Pope himself, the Inquisition, the Master of the Sacred Palace, and the Secretary of the Index, separately. In this way an attempt was made to control what people read, committing to oblivion the works of Protestant scholars, and of such men as Machiavelli, and correcting offensive texts, especially historians. Several such corrected editions were published at the time, and many things were reprinted with large omissions." (Lectures on Modern History, ed. John Neville Figgis and Reginald Vere Laurence, London: Macmillan, 1906, pp. 119, 120)
The political power that the church of Rome is now garnering by aligning herself with the world's most powerful nations will eventually bring about the fulfillment of scripture and her own demise (Rev. 17:16-18). Ever since the Vatican II Council in the 1960s, the papacy has been working with the U.N., the Wold Council of Churches and other politico-religious inter-faith bodies to bring about world unity of all churches, Christian and non-Christian alike (Masonic Luciferian universal religion), under the authority of Rome. This has been achieved through a variety of means, including through the introduction of ecumenical thinking in institutes of advanced learning, emphasizing liturgy over the Word in church services, and the introduction of musical "celebration" in church services. Most Protestants are unaware of how much papal thinking and goals have penetrated their denominations and services.

After the turn of the 20th century certain powerful religio-political entities usurped power over the U.S. Constitution which was the supreme law of the land for more than 100 years. The unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act, passed in 1913 at the urging of influential international bankers, created an illegal monopoly which manipulates the credit of the united States. The IRS, an unconstitutional entity, is merely the collection agency for the international bankers, which over the years has become a tool of the corrupt ruling elite to financially attack and/or imprison people who expose the Federal Reserve and government corruption. Together, these international bankers (Bank of England, Bank of Rome, etc.), having unlimited funds, own and control the U.S. economy, and with the help of powerful ecumenical religio-political organizations (RCC, WCC, CEC, etc.), they also control the mainstream media. Media manipulation of public opinion is easier than most people think. People's opinions and actions are just as easily influenced by what they see and hear as by what they don't see and hear. By dividing and conquering the public through media manipulation of political, economic, religious and racial issues, the people of the nation are being led astray as blind sheep to the slaughter. The public is given the illusion that the voters are actually in control of who gets put into the high offices of the land, when in fact our "elected" and appointed officials are being hand-picked and placed in office by the corrupt ruling elite.

The International Criminal Court, which became official in July 2002, is a permanent tribunal to prosecute individuals anywhere in the world for alleged crimes. As of February 2012 the United States is, at least publicly, refusing to go along with the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The Law of Sea Treaty, another U.N. law that threatens U.S. sovereignty, is being debated in Congress. It is only a matter of time before the anti-American unconstitutional World Court and the Law of Sea Treaty becomes the law of the land in our once free nation. (see Law of Sea Treaty, Patriot Act, etc.)

A world-wide dark age of despotism and Inquisition is becoming a reality, just as the prophetic scriptures warn. History is repeating itself with the passage of the so-called Patriot Act, National Defense Authorization Act, and other unconstitutional laws, while the majority of people today are so caught up in the cares of this life, pleasing themselves, that they don't even care that America, and the world, is entering into a new age of darkness.

ANCIENT PAGAN IDOLATRY IN CHRISTIANITY

In ancient times God allowed his people to go astray and worship in the idolatrous ways of the nations of the world (Deut. 4:19; 17:3; Judges 2:13; 10:6; I Sam. 7:3,4; 12:10; I Kings 11:5,33; II Kings 23:3-5,13; Jer. 7:18; 44:17,18). Ancient sun-worship was an idolatrous custom of the nations of the world from the earliest times of recorded history. Ancient celestial deities were worshiped under a variety of names, but they all shared identical or similar attributes. The Scriptures record numerous instances when God's people turned to pagan idolatry; "and they worshipped the sun" (Ezek. 8:16); "the queen of heaven" (Jer. 7 & 44); etc. (Judges 2:13; 10:6; I Sam. 7:3,4; 12:10; I Kings 11:5,33; II Kings 23:13; Ezek. 8:13-16). When God delivered the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt, many of his people yearned for the idols of the pagan gods (Ezk. 20:1-16). Does God allow his people to go astray today? Absolutely: "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thess. 2:11,12). The book of Acts says of God's own people, even after he delivered them from bondage in Egypt, "in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,...Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven;" (Acts 7:39-43). The scriptures below are only a few of the many examples given to us for our admonition. (1 Cor. 10:1-14)

Deuteronomy 4:15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them,

Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount,
Acts 7:39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
Exodus 32:5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.
Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven;

Judges 2:13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

Judges 10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.

1 Samuel 7:3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

1 Samuel 12:10 And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

1 Kings 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

2 Kings 22:1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

2 Kings 23:3 And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.
4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.
5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

1 Chronicles 16:26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

2 Chronicles 33:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. ...
9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13 And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God. ...
15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city. ...
20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

Psalms 96:5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Jeremiah 2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,
27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

Jeremiah 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Jeremiah 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.

Jeremiah 5:18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
29 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Jeremiah 7:30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

Jeremiah 44:16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.
17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

Ezekiel 8:13 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Ezekiel 14:1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 20:7 Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
8 But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven;

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

"ye took up...the star of your god Remphan" (Amos 5:26; Acts 7:43; 1 Kings 11:1-8)

"Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD." (Jeremiah 51:6, 45)

"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration." (Revelation 17:1-6)

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." (Revelation 18:4, 5)
